Gaspard Feilt, flourished until 1763.

Of German origin, Gaspard Feilt established his atelier in the rue de Charenton. Although little documented, he clearly enjoyed considerable success, as can be seen by the calibre of debtors recorded following his death, including the comte de Béthune, the Maréchal de Broglie and Bishop d'Autun.

The distinctive template of the C-scroll parquetry ground can also seen on a table à écrire by Christophe Wolff (maître in 1755), offered anonymously in these Rooms, 3 July 1980, lot 98.
