Squat cylindrical with triple wirework arch handle partially covered with original wicker insulation, flush-fitting hinged cover with ebony grip handle, spout with small hinged cover, the sides decorated with rows of repoussé beading, overall fine hammering
6¾in. (17.2cm.) high
Stamped with designer's monogram, unidentified silversmith's mark, WW mark in an oval, Rosenmark and Viennese poinçon

The original drawing for this piece is recorded in the archive of the Wiener Werkstätte at the MAK in Vienna, Cat. Inv. No. 12058/26, WWMB Vol. 7, pp. 525/9 (see illustration opposite). The archive records that the service, of which this teapot formed a part, was made for Fritz Wärndorfer and that only one example was produced.
