A pair of Bambola Artistica composition shoulder-headed child dolls
modellled as a boy and a girl with moulded hair, painted features and hard stuffed jointed cloth bodies in original embroidered romper, white cotton muslin frock, blue cotton knitted coat, shoes and socks -- 15in. (38cm.) high, stamped on the right foot, La Bambola Artistica Firenze and on the left Made in Florence (boy lacks shoes, romper needs sewing, some paint loss to hair and rubbing to cheek)

These unusual high quality dolls have been heavily influenced by the Kathe Kruse doll No 1 in the body shape, jointing and the style and herringbone embroidery on the boy's clothes. However, there are only two parts to the legs and arms, although the thumb is a separate attachment.
