This hitherto unpublished tondo is in style very close to Domenico Morone's series of four tondi depicting scenes from the life of Traian (see P. Schubring, Truhen und Truhenbilder der italienischen Frührenaissance. Ein Beitrag zur Profanmalerei im Quattrocento. Supplement, Leipzig, 1923, p. 6, no. 955, pl. XXII).
