We are grateful to J.C. Brasas Egido for confirming the attribution on the basis of photographs. He believes these panels to be fine examples of Antonio Vasquez's mature period, when he moved from a dominant Flemish influence to a more southern Renaissance interpretation. Mr. Brasas Egido compares these panels, both in period and style, with those in the Museum of Sculpture, Valladolid, and intends to publish the present paintings in a forthcoming article on the artist.
