This unusual five-shot weapon is cocked by pulling the barrel forward until it is held by a special sear. Pulling the trigger releases this sear and the barrel is flung back by a spring to fire one of the cartridges which are held by metal sleeves inserted into the revolving chambers. This design survived rigorous testing by the German Government Proof Houses at Halensee and Neumannswalde in 1921 and 1922
