Channelled and carved overall with scrolling foliage and flowerheads, the cartouche-shaped padded back covered in close-nailed Aubusson tapestry depicting a fox and a sheep within floral swags and scrolling foliage in a wooded landscape with out-curved padded arms similarily covered in Aubusson tapestry, with scroll terminals on out curved supports, above a padded seat covered in close-nailed tapesty depicting a goat and a frog in a landscape within a floral garlanded and foliate flagged cartouche, above a waved front rail, on cabouchon-headed cabriole legs with leaf-wrapped feet, stamped 'TILLIARD'

The richly carved frame of this fauteuil, with sinuous lines and distinctive heart-shaped cabochons, is typical of the work of the celebrated menuisier Jean-Baptiste I Tilliard. A chair of similar profile by Tilliard with the same C-scroll clasps heading the legs, is ilustrated in P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1989, p. 834, fig. C.
