Each with a garlanded lyre with a berried finial and flanked by bacchic masks, on paw feet, the concave base with a lion mask flanked by a panelled band and a garlanded foliate support with flaming finial, each with cast-iron back supports with square finial

These impressive chenets are based on the celebrated model, probably designed by Jacques Gondoin, dessinateur des mobilier de la Couronne, of which examples were supplied by the bronzier Claude-Jean Pitoin to M.de Fontanieu in 1777 and to Marie Antoinette in 1779.
