Ian Ribbins was born in 1924. He trained at the Royal College of Art and has also been a visiting lecturer at both St Martin's School of Art and the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. The majority of his work is rooted in an interest in 'people in action', working on the spot in gouache or watercolour.
