With a row of lotus buds in the handle zone above decorative red and black bands of varying thickness, in the center of which is an upside- down row of silhouette animals including deer, cocks, geese, and lions, thin rays above the stem, a red fillet between bowl and stem, reserved band on the rim interior and another low down in the lip, a reserved disc in the tondo, an ancient lead repair connecting the bowl to the stem, restored from fragments, minor repainting along fractures, 5 3/16in. (13.2cm.) high, 8 5/8in. (21.9cm.) diam. excluding handles
