AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE FIGURE OF A MOTHER GODDESS
Third Intermediate to Late Period, 1070-332 B.C.

Seated in the attitude of a nursing mother, her right hand holding her left breast, the left arm supporting the (now missing) child, wearing a tightly fitted skirt with incised striations and feather pattern, and a striated tripartite wig with traces of an incised central uraeus surmounted by the Red Crown, the vertical projection above the crown probably modern, 7 3/16in. (18.3cm.) high
