Circa 1812, the dial signed BAUSSE RUE DE RICHELIEU NO. 47
Depicting Aurora lifting the cloak of darkness from the globe and revealing a comet, the globe centered by a dial with enamelled Roman chapter ring, with a cockerel standing to the side, on a rectangular base mounted with winged putti tying a large floral bouquet and with further bouquets flanking, on ball feet, the cockerel largely replaced

This clock probably depicts the comet of 1811-1812, known as Napoleon's Comet. A closely related clock is illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Encyclopédie de la Pendule Franaise, Paris, 1997, p.394, fig. C.
