Private Henry Coley was born in Westminster, Middlesex and enlisted into the 33rd Foot in July 1813, aged 18 years. Subsequently engaged in the Waterloo Campaign, he had his left arm 'shot off' at Quatre Bras on 16.6.1815 (P.R.O. WO97/511 refers). The unfortunate Coley was discharged at the Bois de Boulogne in October of the same year.
