Sold with a quantity of original documentation, including photographs of the recipient in uniform; a British Red Cross letter regarding his 'Missing' status (dated 26.1.1917); a card to his fiance from a Chaplain; and two pages of verse entitled 'Fall In' in the recipient's own hand.

Private Michael Timlin, aged 25 years, was killed in action on 3.7.1916 while on a bombing party in Shelter Wood situated at the back of Mametz Wood.
