Sold with an original photograph of the recipient in uniform, mounted within a patriotic aquatint, 'Faithful to Empire', in a contemporary ebonised wood glazed frame.

Private Fred Irving, aged 21 years, from Newcastle-on-Tyne was killed in action on 26.4.1915 at Kitchener's Wood and is buried in the Seaforth Cemetery, Cheddar Villa, Langemarck.
