A birdseller crossing the bridge of San Trovaso on the Zattere, Venice

Part of a series of drawings illustrating the Venetian trades, four of which were sold at Christie's London, 29 November 1977, lot 22. Drawings from this series were engraved in 1753 in Venice under the name Le Arti che vanno per via nella città di Venezia, re-published in 1783 with additional plates.
