A late 18th Century 11in. radius ebony and brass octant
the inset ivory scale divided on Ramsdens engine 2- 0- 102, the vernier with clamp and scratch-marked L.32, two pin-hole sights, three inter-changeable shades, three mirrors, makers/owners plate inset in cross bar, note plate inset on reverse, brass adjusters and pin feet, contained within a stepped keystone box with brass lock plate, securing hooks and carrying handle (later) -- 15in.
