A related Amphitrite figure, acquired by Charles de Bestegui for the Chateau de Groussay, was sold at the Sotheby's and Poulain Le Fur house sale at the Chteau de Groussay, 2-6 June 1999, lot 192.

Both bronzes are reproductions after a well known series of gilt bronze gods and goddesses commissioned by the jeweller de Montarsi from Michel Anguier in 1652.
