Folio, contemporary calf, raised bands, old paper spine label, joints cracked, boards somewhat bowed; engraved title a little browned and frayed along fore-margin, lower margin stained (from edge-staining) on last 6 leaves, tear in lower margin on E and gutter margin on Z4, otherwise internally fine. FIRST EDITION, Sabin's 7th issue (and Church's 5th issue, state A); the large folding map of Virginia supplied in facsimile; engraved title is in the 5th state (the earlier of the two found in this issue); the map of Ould Virginia is in the 4th state, the map of New England in the 8th state, and the map of The Summer Ils. is in the 3rd state.
