The rectangular clock with brass mounts and an enamelled circular dial inscribed Du Buc, Rue Michel-le-Combe No. 33,A. above a bronze drapery swag inscribed Washington/the first in war, first in PEACE/and in his COUNTRYMENS' HEARTS," surmounted by a shielded spreadwinged eagle grasping an arrow and olive branch above a plinth inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM, a flanked by a standing figure of Washington holding a scroll in his right hand and a sword in his left hand, all over a rectangular base with a gilded mount centering a female head, on chased ball feet--15½in. high, 9¾in. long, 4in. deep
