Of spherical form on spreading foot and with hinged domed cover, one side extruded into a large tubular spout curving up to a flat T-section rim, the simple ring handle surmounted by a small plinth supporting a lion with raised tail, the body with scrolling copper-inlaid arabesques encircling a hook at each side, flanked by bird roundels, two further birds below, the two larger bird roundels facing front surmounted by kufic signature inscription and a benedictory phrase, a band of foliated kufic around the mouth, the cover with interlaced arabesques, the underside of the spout with a copper-inlaid trefoil terminal, the hexafoil foot with two bird roundels, cover probably associated, some later enhancement of original engraving, green and red areas of patination
