As the style of the present lot reflects the influence of Pieter van Roestraten. The as yet anonymous artist has been provisionally called the Pseudo Roestraten by Fred Meyer. Another work by him was offered at Sotheby's London, 16 July 1980, lot 231, ill. as G. B. van Roestraten. Meyer has grouped circa 75 comparable still lifes by this artist and/or his Studio.
