A PAINTED AND DECORATED ROCKER, American, circa 1840, the slightly bowed rectangular crestrail centering a stencilled basket of fruit above seven tapering spindles flanked by tapering stiles over shaped arms with baluster-turned supports above a plank seat, on cylindrical legs joined by shaped rockers, the entire surface painted yellow and embellished with polychrome stencilled decoration--43in. high
