This model of chair has been attributed to the Billinge area of Lancashire. Distinctive features of this group are the arch to the top-rail of the back and the down pointing tip to this bar and the other splats. Quite heavy, chunky legs are also typical and a concave sided seat-edge, although here this is not present because the seats have been renewed.
