A GEORGE II ENAMELLED GOLD SCENT-BOTTLE
English, circa 1750
Slightly tapering flattened flask with hinged cap and independent stopper, repouss with reeded rocaille scrolls and enamelled with exotic birds, flowers and foliage on a matted gold ground, the cap with flame-shaped finial surrounded by enamel leaves, the base engraved with a flowerhead, suspended from a parcel-enamelled gold ring with two chains fixed at the shoulders of the bottle
