STENDERS SKOLEGLOBE gennemset af SKOLEINSPEKTÖR P. LAURIDSEN [c.1905]
A 13-inch (33cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe made up of twelve coloured printed gores and two polar calottes, the equator and prime meridian graduated in degrees, the ecliptic ungraduated, the oceans showing ocean currents in blue and red, cable routes and steamship routes, the continents coloured in yellow with nation states outlined in green, blue and red, showing a wealth of physical and political geographical information, including railway lines, telegraph routes, caravan trails and the Great Wall of China, the Antarctic continent coloured but with little coastline marked, the North Pole labelled 80°13"6' Nansen 7.IV.95 and 86°33' Cayni 24.V.1900 (some surface abrasions around the Antarctic and the equator), with brass meridian half circle engraved on one side, supported by a nickel-plated figure of a lady in egyptian dress and headgear, raised on a brass plinth decorated with circle motif -- 29in.
