As with the previous lot, this candlestick belongs to the early English 'trumpet' series. It appears to be the only surviving example in brass, but can be compared to a pewter example dated to the early 17th century by Caspall (loc. cit.) and to a set of four slightly squatter silver candlesticks dated 1637 (Bourne and Brett, loc. cit.). The present piece is hollow cast in two parts.
