A similar vase from the Palace Museum, Beijing, is illustrated in Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong, p. 146, col. pl. 129 and Zhongguo Meishu Quanji, p. 135, col. pl. 157. Compare also the Chenghua-marked Kangxi vase of this form and decoration under a bluish-green glaze from the British Museum illustrated in Oriental Ceramics, Kodansha Series, vol. 5, fig. 231. The shape is similar to the 'three-string' vase under a peachbloom glaze offered in the present sale as lot 557.
