The arms are those of Somerset, 2nd Earl Belmore, born in 1774. He married in 1800 Juliana, 2nd daughter of the Earl of Carrick, and succeeded to the title on the death of his father in 1802. He sat as Tory M.P. for co. Tyrone between 1797-1802 and was one of the representative peers of Ireland between 1819 and 1841. He died in 1841.
