Each oval, with silver cover and dish set on warming stand of copper overlaid with silver sheet, the interior with cast iron heater, on four ivory ball feet, the two scroll handles with baluster ivory grips, the slightly domed cover engraved with the initial N; marked under dish; the warming stands also marked OLD SILVER on silver edges

The construction of the warming stands is unusual and apparently a substitute for Sheffield plate, where the copper and silver would have been fused together rather than overlaid.
