The shaped-oblong casket on four cast and applied putto mask and foliate scroll feet, and with hinged domed cover and shell angles, chased overall with shells and scrolls on a matted ground, the base applied with four with rosettes and with drawer lined with crimson velvet and fitted with a gold paper knife, a combination propelling pencil and pen, a desk seal with blood stone matrix and a small knife with steel blade, the mounts each chased with flowers on a matted ground and inset with turquoise, the interior of the casket fitted with two engine-turned square inkwells with hinged covers, the interior of the cover with a mirror, marked on drawer, casket and casket frame, the cover, inkwell and instruments apparently unmarked
