This drawing was executed for a ceiling decoration in the house of Edward Pauncefort, Treasurer of Excise, in Pall Mall. The finished painting was dedicated to Queen Anne and was inscribed 'ANNA/opt: REG:/1713'. The house was sold in February 1727 following Pauncefort's death and has since been demolished. Another drawing, dated 1713, was recorded by Croft-Murray, loc.cit., in the collection of Dr. G. Schwarting, Delmenhorst, Germany.
