The tripod-tables' hermed feet, with basket-bearing nymphs, derive from those of QueenMarie Antoinette's lacquer-veneered table, which was executed in 1784 under the direction of the marchand-mercier Dominique Daguerre (d. 1796) and is now in the Louvre (see M. Segoura, Weisweiler, Paris 1983, p. 42).
