拍卖简介

Christie’s London will host its 20^th/21^st Century Evening Sale on 13 October 2023, led by Paula Rego’s masterpiece Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney’s ‘Fantasia’ (1995). Standing among her most virtuosic, theatrical and ambitious works, it is the finest and most complex in her extraordinary series of the same name. Formerly part of the Saatchi Collection, the work was made for the exhibition Spellbound: Art and Film at the Hayward Gallery, London in 1996. An icon of her practice, it has featured in many of Rego’s most important retrospectives over the past three decades.
