Circular box with independent cover, all over inset with 127 different petal-shaped hardstone panels mounted within engraved and numbered gold rims displayed in concentrical tapering circles, the cover centred by a circular porcelain plaque painted with Venus admiring herself in a mirror held by Cupid, the borders of the box with simulated pearls, the base, centred with a carnelian rosette within a circle of simulated pearls, unscrewing in order to reveal a secret compartment
