The triangular lodge was built in 1593 by Sir Thomas Tresham, a wealthy landowner who had built a three-sided house at nearby Brigstock. Sir Thomas was fascinated by the Holy Trinity and both the house and the lodge have windows built in groups of three. The lodge is now owned by the National Trust.
