FIRST EDITION. Hugh Williams, landscape painter, was an original member of Associated Artists in Water Colour, 1808. This account of his travels in Italy and Greece between 1816 and 1818, illustrated with his own sketches, is said by Lowndes to contain "much valuable information on the Fine Arts." Followed by a highly successful exhibition of Greek watercolours at Edinburgh in 1822, it helped earn him the sobriquet of "Grecian Williams." Lowndes 2932; Pine-Coffin 81610. (2)
