Sebah phot., mounted back-to-back, brown morocco, ruled gilt, applied gilt monogram with the letters MTP on front cover, folio.

A rare example of an album which includes each of the photographs in the same numerical order as offered in the photographer's catalogue listing of 1875. Numbers 1 - 112 and 115 - 117 are exactly as in the printed catalogue. Number 113 is untitled but corresponds with the subject of the Suez Canal and number 114 is titled Inauguration du Canal de Suez whereas the catalogue title is Port-Saïd. Canal de Suez. No. 118 is additional to the catalogue. The Suez Canal opened in 1869.
