If You Thank That Life Is Tough, Well Yesterday Maybe It Was, Well Tomorrow Its Not, (Gonna Be That Way)... inscribed to the vendor and dated December 1988 at the foot of the page; the other song Have Fun!!, [the last track on the tape in the previous lot], thirty-one lines giving a 'compassionate message to a kindred spirit' ...Dont Tell Me I Dont Understand Or Ever Raise Your Hand, I Know What Your Thinking No-one Means You Any-Harm, So Theres No Cause For Alarm...Y'Know Ive Been There Before, Y'Know Ive Had That Very Same Door Slammed In My Face... continuing with the advise ..Keep Believing In Yourself, Only You Can Help Yourself Youve Got To Have Fun!! Peter Doggett described Noel's song No Cause For Alarm! as performed on the tape in lot 87 as ..a touching message of faith and affirmation, in stark contrast to the nihilism of the other songs [on the same cassette]... Doggett said of the lyrics for Have Fun!! that ..Someone once described Noel's lyrics as "familiar phrases strung together until they no longer have a meaning" ..that's a perfect description of this optimistic, anthemic number....
