A LARGE SANCAI-GLAZED BUFF POTTERY FIGURE OF A CAPARISONED HORSE

The powerfully and naturalistically modeled horse standing foursquare on a rectangular base and turning slightly to the left, harnessed with brown-glazed straps decorated with florette repouss appliques suspending foliate pendants around the shoulder and rump, the halter with similar pendants flanking the cheeks and below the parted forelock, with a green-glazed saddle over a blanket splashed with green, amber and straw glazes, the mane trimmed short, the body straw glazed, the muzzle glazed amber, base replaced
