The pots maker's marks of Ball, Thompkins & Black and Wm. Forbes, circa 1840; the two handled covered sugar bowl J. C. Moore
Compressed circular, the coffee pot baluster, each on tapering foliate scroll supports, one side flat-chased and engraved with rocaille and floral asymmetrical cartouche, one enclosing initials and date 1842; the other diaperwork, with scroll handle, the pots with hinged low domed cover topped by twisted foliate finial, the coffee pot --10in. (25.4cm.) high, gross weight 86oz. (3)
