Of tall rectangular form, the side panels of the cover each decorated with a five-clawed striding dragon, the head turned towards a flaming pearl beside its tail on a ruyi-cloud ground above turbulent waves within a key-pattern border, the top panel with two descending dragons flanking a long rectangular panel, the interior box lined along the platform base with upward protruding corners for holding jade tablets, all supported on a waisted foot decorated at the sides with bands of lappets between stylised floral-spray, minor age cracks
