A PAIR OF CANTON ENAMEL AND GILT-BRONZE 'EUROPEAN-SUBJECT' CIRCULAR MIRRORS
QIANLONG
Each mirror held in place by a circular white jade frame and set within a decorative gilt mount with floral-scroll borders, the reverse of both enamelled at the centre, the first painted with a European lady holding a ewer standing beside her kneeling servant in a garden landscape scene with distant Grecian architecture, and on the other with a lady offering refreshment to a gentleman playing the flute, both seated under a gnarled tree, the mirrors held by openwork arched floral gilt handles
