One from a series of fine plates produced from drawings by Salt, made when he accompanied George Annesley, Viscount Valentia (later Lord Mountnorris) as his secretary and draughtsman on an eastern tour which included the first British mission to Abyssinia. The series was published under the title Twenty-Four Views in St.Helena, the Cape, India, Ceylon, the Red Sea, Abyssinia, and Egypt in 1809. See previous lot. Cf. Abbey Travel II.515.
