The later rectangular plate within a reeded slip flanked by oak-leaf columns, the inverted breakfront cornice with foliate-carved moulding above a ribbed horizontal frieze depicting a pair of sphinxes flanking an anthemion, restorations, re-gilt, the reverse with the remains of a repository and framer's label, possibly originally with a verre eglomisé upper plate
