The associated English demi-lune white marble and scagliola top with a blue-ribboned oak-leaf band within a pearled edge, above a laurel band and a pierced Greek-key frieze with blued metal backing and divided by bardiglio marble-backed white marble reliefs with Chinoiserie children to the front and foliage to each side, on three turned strigillated legs headed by an eagle on a sphere and terminating in raised foliate feet

This table's ellipitcal frieze is embellished with pearl-strings and a fretted Grecian ribbon-scroll incorporating jasper-like tablets of sporting youths set above three legs. The central tablet is displayed, like a Roman signum-standard, above a strigil-fluted and acanthus-wrapped sphere. Its design, including the tablet of festive youths, relates to that of furniture designed by Giocondo Albertolli in the late 1780s for the Villa Reale at Monza (A. Gonzàlez-Palacios, Il Tempio del Gusto, Milan, 1986, vol. II, fig. 657).
