A RARE DINGYAO PERSIMMON-GLAZED CUPSTAND
SONG DYNASTY

Thinly potted with a deep incurving holder supported on a flat saucer with an upturned rim and a splayed foot, covered overall with a chocolate-brown glaze suffused with dark green speckles thinning at the rims, the fine white ware exposed on the unglazed ringfoot (shallow rim chip and associated glaze flake)--4 1/2in. (12cm.) diam.
