An Italian Or Spanish Falling-Bevor
Late 15th Century
Comprising a shaped chin-defence with medial ridge of two plates pivoted together at the sides, the upper plate (internal patch) with flanged turn bordered by lining holes along the upper edge, the lower one with a spring catch (spring renewed) to support the former in the up position, and associated deep bottom plate (repaired) struck with an illegible mark, and pierced with a pair of holes at the bottom for an arming point
