A Cuirassier Helmet Of 'Todenkopf' Type
Circa 1630, probably German
With two-piece skull (dented on one side and with small hole), bevor and pointed fall pivoting at the same points, the latter carrying a solid triangular face-guard pierced with two 'eyes', diamond-shaped 'mouth', and a number of small circular and rectangular breaths, single gorget-plate at front and rear, each with turned border, and domed steel lining-rivets throughout (leather neck-strap missing)
