An unusual Style Japonais fan with silver guardsticks: the silk leaf and leather-covered sticks possibly Viennese, the guardsticks chased and partly gilt with the monogram LR five times and a frog, a fly, a spider and a ladybird, marker's mark A.F.1887, possibly Alfred Fridlander and inscribed with retailer's name 41 St. James's St., Jones, 23 Bd. des Capuchines, Paris, with safety ring and fanguard suspended from chains - 9in.
